People truly do go hard for The Ordinary, and I’m no exception. Those minimal, science lab-looking bottles. The way you can customise your regimen based on the specific actives you want.
What could possibly go wrong?
Haha. Keep reading for the products I’d happily pay a LOT more for.

The Ordinary Favourites

In no particular order;

Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%
If you’re after a potent antioxidant serum for daytime, or maybe your skin goal is brightening or overall skin preservation, this is a fabulously inexpensive option and it will last forever, as you only need a couple drops. I’ve never experienced sensitivity from using it.
$13.90AUD for 30mL

Squalane Cleanser
I use this as my first cleanse. It dissolves makeup beautifully, and the texture is MUCH nicer than many more expensive options. It’s nourishing and will never leave your skin feeling stripped or dry. Heaven.
$13.90AUD for 50mL or $34.90AUD for 150mL

Salicylic Acid 2% Masque
Exfoliation is a hot topic right now and consequently, so is overexfoliation. If your exfoliator is a mask, it’s pretty hard to overdo it, right, because who can be bothered to mask for 10 minutes more than once to twice per week? Not me.
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque contains charcoal and clay to absorb impurities as it exfoliates, and because you rinse off, it’s potentially a lot gentler than a leave-on acid. You’re welcome.
$21.90AUD for 50mL

Marine Hyaluronics
I like my hydrating serums watery. Like, really watery. Reason being, they absorb more quickly and are less likely to pill. Fun fact – Marine Hyaluronics doesn’t actually contain hyaluronic acid itself, instead it uses glycerin, amino acids, and marine exopolysaccharides to grab water and hold it in your skin. Which it does, beautifully.
$12.90AUD for 30mL

Amino Acids + B5
Another delightful hydrating serum completely free from hyaluronic acid. This one uses calming panthenol (Vitamin B5) and amino acids, as the name suggests. Amino acids are our skin’s natural moisturising factors, and they’re already present in healthy skin. So it knows exactly what to do with them.
$12.90AUD for 30mL

Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
Puffy eyes? This is for you. I’ve never seen something instantly depuff and tighten my eye area like this. Truly magical. It also contains EGCG, from green tea, and glutathione, both of which are supremely brightening. I will say, it’s a serum texture so if your under eye needs a cream to stay hydrated, you’ll need a separate cream.
$12.70AUD for 30mL

Retinol 0.5% in Squalane
Wanting to dip your toes into the retinoid waters? Add a couple drops of this to your moisturiser 1-2x/week and watch your skin transform over the next six months. Take before and after pics for me. It’s potent enough for you to notice results, but not so potent your face will fall off and you’ll give up before you get anywhere with it.
$9.80AUD for 30mL
