Sunscreen Review: Ultra Violette Lean Screen Zinc Oxide SPF50+
After a zinc oxide based, fragrance free sunscreen that’s not too matte or dewy?
No whitecast? Yep. I said no whitecast. And I’ve seen people with much deeper skin than mine agree!
Price: $AU45 for 50mL at Adore Beauty or Sephora Australia
Inclusivity: There’s no whitecast on me, a very fair person,
I’ve seen it work on medium to deep skintones, too!
Makeup Compatibility: Alone, it’s sheer but evens out my skintone. Under makeup, it takes on the texture of my other skincare.
Swipe for daylight and flash pictures – no flashback.
I wouldn’t reapply this over makeup though, it requires some working into skin.
It pilled on my neck once, reason being I forgot to mist the area before applying my HA serum, so the HA was just sitting on top of my skin.
Feel and Finish: Swipe for texture. It’s a little thick and massages in best if it’s been warmed up in your hands first. The finish is matte but not flat.
Skin Types: Normal to oily. It can work for dry skin too, just layer hydrating skincare underneath like you’re probably already doing.
Fragrance: Fragrance free
Alcohol: None present
UV Filter: Zinc Oxide
Sensitivity: None experienced – in fact these photos were taken with a nasty skin reaction and Lean Screen felt soothing to apply.
The reaction was unrelated to skincare.
Eye Sting: No
Pore Clogging: No, and I slept in it to triple check (because I was scared to wash my face as it’s been really painful)
I will say, you’ll want to cleanse throughly with this one.
Bonus Ingredients: We have Iron Oxides to prevent whitecast and help protect from blue light induced pigmentation (yeah, that’s a thing 🥴)
Soothing Pentavitin and Vitamin C-rich Kakadu Plum.

Altogether, if you want a zinc sunscreen for sensitive skin that won’t make you look like a ghost, get this xx
